Report a dead animal
The city picks up dead animals from streets and front curbs in the public right-of-way. Report the location to 311 and the Streets Department will collect it — usually within 24 hours.
What the city collects
The Streets Department collects dead animals of any size — small ones like rodents and birds, medium like cats and dogs, and large like deer.
Pickup covers the public right-of-way only: animals in the street or at the front curb. City staff can't collect from private property or alleyways.
How to report
Report online, or call 311 during business hours (Mon–Fri, 7:30 am – 5:30 pm). Have this ready:
- The location — street address or nearest cross street
- A description — the animal's size and type
- Your contact information
Under normal call volumes, the Streets Department responds within 24 hours.
