Surrender a pet

South Bend residents may surrender their pet by appointment for a $20 fee. Fill out the owner surrender form online and a team member will reach out to schedule a day and time for drop-off. SBARC will also take back any animal adopted through SBARC, regardless of residency.

How it works

  1. Fill out the owner surrender form.

    Complete it online — it tells us a little about you and your pet.

  2. We'll schedule your appointment.

    A member of the SBARC team reaches out to set up a surrender appointment, Monday through Friday between 9 am and 5 pm.

  3. Bring your pet in.

    Come to SBARC at your appointment with a photo ID, proof you live in South Bend, and the $20 fee.
